Now I am not going to claim that I wear only vintage clothing or anything. I just love a good deal and something that I can create an original outfit with. When I was teenager, I would go to thrift stores and buy all of my accessories and some clothing from them. I loved finding something that no one else would have!
These days I find myself having a mix of fast fashion and thrifted items. For those everyday things such as leggings, jeans, and some tops I find most of those online. But jackets, shirts, hats, etc. can be easily sourced from thrift shops. The styles can vary from retro items to high quality items to barely used fast fashion.
One of my favorite items to get at thrift stores are jackets. With living in NH jackets can be useful almost all year round. The styles can vary from extra layers for spring temps like jean jackets to winter faux fur pieces. The best part is the sizing does not matter as much so you can size up or size down and it will still fit.
My Aunt has always told me that my style was inherited from my Grandmother, Mame. She was a style icon, so I take that as a high compliment. When she passed, I got a bunch of her clothing and some of her jackets I still wear to this day.
Whenever I find thrifted treasures whether it is clothing or home goods, I always have this particular kind of joy bubble up inside me that nothing else can replicate. Maybe it is because thrifting can be a hit or miss experience and that is why when you find a winner you really feel it!
