The Motorcycle Diaries

Matthew grew up on motorcycles. That may sound like an extravagation, but it truly isn’t. His love for bikes runs deep and is unparalleled to anything else.

Matthew’s Dad is part of a biker club (No, not like Sons of Anarchy) and has been all of Matt’s life so that is where his passion of bikes comes from. When Matt lived in England, they took many trips around the UK and even down to Spain.

Now that Matt lives in America they don’t ride around Europe as often. But whenever Dave comes to visit the guys always find time to go for a ride around NH.

I can’t tell you how many times my husband has told me that he was on a mini dirt bike at the age of three riding around on a beach. Gosh, I wish I had a picture of that but this one will have to do.

Although I can’t ride a motorcycle by myself, I am a very good pillion passenger. I love leaning for the corners and looking over Matt’s shoulders to see where we are going. I do enjoy pretending that I can drive it on my own though!

We used to own three bike – Kawasaki 90, Kawasaki KH250 and Triumph Bonneville 750. We sadly sold the orange and blue ones and now only have the Triumph. I loved the orange one because it was small and would have been manageable for me to learn on.

We sold it because Matthew typical buys the bikes as a project and then turns them over to their new owners. It is always a sad day when a vehicle leaves our home but the excitement of finding the next project helps!
