Hello friends!
Are you hosting Thanksgiving this year? Even if it is a small gathering, like we are having, then it will be wonderful to spend time with family and friends.
We believe that you can enjoy the holiday any way you want to so if that includes just eating food and enjoying your loved one’s company then go for that.
If you love dressing a table, like we do, then you that is one thing you may be brainstorming in the coming few weeks before the holiday. We are too! After some consideration we have come up with five important tips to keep in mind for your 2021Thanksgiving table!
Here we go!
- Mismatched Crockery
How beautiful are these thrifted finds that we have collected over the years? We absolutely love what mixing different plates and cups does for our tables when we lay them out. There is nothing like mismatched tableware to create an informal, inviting and cozy tablescape.
- Foraged Centerpieces
We have always enjoyed going out into nature and picking flowers and other inspiration but recently we have begun to enjoy foraging more than ever before. The flowers and pumpkins on the table are grown from our gardens this year. We are looking forward to continuing this new foraged tradition in years to come.
- Bunches of Candles
Another one of our most recent obsessions is candles! White candles, color candles, twisted candles, tall candles and everything in between. The light and atmosphere that they create while sitting down for a meal are second to none. They also make pictures look fantastic!
- Mixed Patterns of Linens
Just as we love mixing our crockery, we also love a mix-match of patterns for the linens on a table. It is easy to feel overwhelmed by pattern but as long as you have the scales of the patterns at different sizes but the same colors — then they’ll look great! For example, we did a medium floral on the tablecloth and a small check on the napkins.
- Keep Comfort in Mind
This one may be obvious, but it is important to keep in mind if you plan to stay at the table a long time — especially with guests. Make sure that your chairs are plush, the right height for the table and enough space for everyone to sit around the table comfortably.
There you go! What are your plans for your Thanksgiving table? Did any of these tips help you brainstorm new ideas? We’d love to hear what you decided on – let us know in the comments! J
